Surgical services at Cypress Pointe Hospital include bariatric surgery, also referred to as weight loss surgery. Our board-certified surgeons use the latest technology and techniques to perform minimally invasive, laparascopic procedures which reduce the size of the stomach, remove a portion of the stomach or resection and reroute the small intestine. Your physician will help you decide which procedure is best and will point out advantages and disadvantages of each. Patients who meet certain criteria and who receive a physician’s recommendation may be covered for procedures by health insurance benefits as well as Medicare. The most commonly performed bariatric surgery procedures at Cypress Pointe Hospital are:
- Gastric Bypass
- Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (Lap Band, A Band or LAGB)
- Sleeve Gastrectomy
Not all patients are candidates for Bariatric Surgery. For alternative treatments, the CPH Ideal Protein Weight Management program is available and may be another option for patients who want to lose and maintain a healthy weight.
